The Warm Heart of Africa

This week, I am privileged to preach the Gospel in Malawi Africa, the seventh poorest nation in the world with one million orphans and with the life expectancy being only 41.7 years old. 

Yet, incredibly this nation is still considered the warm heart of Africa, not only for the incredible warmth of the air, but due to the amazing warmth of the hearts of these people in need.  "Need" doesn't even seem strong enough a word to describe the amount of people stricken with poverty.  "Need" does not fairly describe the amount of people struggling through the end of life with HIV AIDS.  "Need" is a weak word for those who are living their lives without the knowledge of the One who came to give them life. 

It is into this incredible country that in August of 2008 the first YC on the African continent will be held.  YC is Canada's largest Youth Conference; and this year it's going global.  Not only will there be a life-changing event on the weekend of August 8th, 2008 (08/08/08), but our dream is to impact the country by sending in up to 12 teams from Canada (under the leadership of Mike Love) to minister with compassion, love, and truth to this warm country. 

Indeed, God is using the prayerful support of friends like you to share Christ with thousands of people.  Thank you for helping us reach this nation one heart at a time.
